What You Can Do to Stand Out This Holiday Season

Standing out during the holidays can be difficult - but with over 75% of shoppers doing their holiday shopping online, it's more important than ever to get seen.


This year presents a rare opportunity to reach almost double the amount of online shoppers than last year - 2020 Cyber Weekend sales are expected to hit a record $51.5 billion! So how can you stand out against increased e-commerce competition?


Run Sales:

Offering a sale is a great way to entice even more online shoppers to visit your shop. Promote your sales via instagram, facebook, your mailing list, and even consider creating a custom holiday sale banner on your Etsy shop! There's no point in having a sale if no one knows about it, so hype up your followers and get them excited to save some $$$!


Market your listings towards the holidays:

Do you offer re-usable tote bags? Guess what...that tote bag just became the BEST holiday gift for your sister! Do you offer tumblers? That tumbler is officially the cutest stocking stuffer on the market! What I'm saying is - even if you didn't create a listing with the holidays in mind, the way you market that listing is going to change how your customers view your work. Starting mid to late October, be sure to start painting a picture in your followers heads of how your shop makes the perfect go-to gift shop.

Offer returning customer coupons:

One of the top questions I get asked by my clients during the holiday season is - "How can I prevent my sales from dropping off after December ends?". The best way to do this is to include an exclusive returning customer coupon code in each package you mail out. Offering an extra 10-20% if they shop after the holidays is a great way to encourage returning customers. Remember to make each coupon code one-time-use only!


Play around with packaging:

The holidays are such a fun and exciting time - you should have fun with it too! Buy holiday themed wrap and accessories to create a beautiful package for your buyers. The un-boxing experience is really important right now, so make sure your customers have a great experience from the second they take your package out of their mailbox!
